AEO Welcomes Alison Willis as New Chair to Drive Member-Centric Strategy

The Association of Event Organisers (AEO) has appointed Alison Willis, CEO of Easyfairs, as its new Chair, marking a new chapter in its leadership journey. At a recent AEO Board meeting, Andrew Williams, Executive Vice President at Informa, was named Vice Chair, while outgoing Chair Rachel Swann COO of the energy division at damage events takes on the role of Past Chair through September 2026.
The board also extended heartfelt gratitude to Matthew Butler, Group Managing Director of CloserStill Media, who stepped down as Past Chair, recognizing his invaluable service and guidance.
Willis highlighted that her main goal in the coming year is to deepen member engagement by co-creating a refreshed value proposition that aligns with what members truly need. She expressed enthusiasm for working closely with the Board and community to ensure that AEO remains both relevant and forward-looking.
CEO Anna Golden echoed these sentiments, praising Swann’s leadership during a dynamic period and expressing confidence in Willis’s ability to build on those successes. Golden emphasized the importance of a value proposition shaped by the evolving needs of the membership.
