Winnipeg recently hosted the inaugural Naija Trade Fair, a vibrant celebration of Nigerian culture and entrepreneurship. Organized by Canada Naija Business Hub and Nigerians in Winnipeg, the event showcased over 100 Nigerian and African-owned businesses, offering attendees a rich tapestry of fashion, cuisine, music, and art.
The fair was graced by notable dignitaries, including Manitoba's Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, Seniors and Long-term Care, Uzoma Asagwara. She lauded the event, stating, "Nigerian culture is so beautiful and diverse. I look forward to having more of this gathering in Winnipeg."
Tolulope Adebayo, founder of Canada Naija Business Hub, emphasized the fair's role in connecting communities and promoting cultural heritage. "The Winnipeg Naija Trade Fair is more than just a marketplace; it's an opportunity to connect with the rich heritage of Nigeria and discover talented local businesses in Canada," she remarked.
Attendees enjoyed a variety of attractions, including authentic Nigerian dishes, traditional music performances, and interactive games. The event also featured raffle draws and free meal tickets, enhancing the festive atmosphere.
Olubunmi Agbaje, founder of Nigerians in Winnipeg, expressed gratitude to all participants and announced plans to make the trade fair an annual event, further solidifying its place in Winnipeg's cultural calendar.
