Events Apprenticeships has unveiled its inaugural Good Employer Guide, specifically designed to support the events sector in hiring and nurturing apprenticeship talent. Developed in collaboration with leading training providers — including The JGA Group, Access Industry, Creative Alliance, and MUTI Live — as well as key stakeholders from the advisory board, the guide offers practical steps and best practices to create effective, inclusive apprenticeship schemes.
The guide covers essential topics such as legal compliance, recruitment strategies, onboarding processes, mentoring frameworks, and long-term retention plans. It places special emphasis on building accessible pathways for diverse candidates—across logistics, production, rigging, lighting, marketing, sustainability, and leadership roles. This initiative aligns with Events Apprenticeships’ mission to diversify the industry and open entry routes beyond traditional graduate recruitment.
To mark its launch, the organisation hosted a webinar featuring insights from panelists including Anna Green, Noreen O’Riordan, Carla Garman, and Kate Hartoch, who shared real-world experiences and highlighted the importance of creating welcoming, supportive environments for apprentices. A second webinar scheduled for July 2 will delve deeper into implementing apprenticeship programmes and will provide attendees with exclusive early access to the full guide.
With talent shortages persisting across the creative events landscape, this guide offers companies a clear and streamlined approach to attracting, supporting, and retaining the next generation of event professionals.
