Oklahoma Pecan Growers Prepare for Annual Conference and Trade Show

The Oklahoma Pecan Growers Association (OPGA) is set to host its annual meeting and trade show from May 30 to June 1, 2025, at the Ardmore Convention Center. This event aims to bring together pecan producers, industry experts, and vendors for three days of education, networking, and showcasing the latest in pecan cultivation and marketing.Becky Carroll, a fruit and pecan specialist at Oklahoma State University Extension, highlighted the conference's role in uniting professionals and novices alike. Attendees can look forward to educational sessions covering topics such as pest management, disease control, and orchard economics. An optional field day at the Buchanan Family Pecan Farm will offer insights into practical farming techniques.

The trade show will feature new pecan-related products, while the Pecan Food Show invites bakers and cooks to compete, with awards presented for outstanding entries. This event, with a history spanning 70 years, continues to be a cornerstone for those involved in Oklahoma's pecan industry.
