Sunbelt Rentals Launches “Wreaths Across Great Britain” to Honour Veterans

Sunbelt Rentals UK & Ireland has revealed a meaningful new remembrance campaign, Wreaths Across Great Britain, taking place throughout December to pay tribute to veterans laid to rest in Commonwealth war graves. The initiative draws inspiration from similar programmes in the United States and Canada, combining community volunteering, remembrance, and rehabilitation to ensure those who served are respectfully remembered.

Over 300 handcrafted wreaths will be placed at cemeteries in Greenock, Dundee, and at Scottish Veterans Residences for former servicemen and women who lack family to commemorate them. In partnership with Forests With Impact, the wreaths were made by people in custody, including veterans at HMP Haverigg, strengthening the initiative’s focus on social sustainability and rehabilitation through service.

Sunbelt Rentals teams collected the wreaths and transported them to local depots across Scotland. On 3 December, employees and volunteers gathered to lay the wreaths, read aloud the names of the honoured veterans, and pay their respects, reflecting the project’s core belief that a veteran is truly lost only when their name is forgotten.

This campaign forms part of the company’s wider commitment to the veteran community. Sunbelt Rentals employs around 2,000 veterans globally and holds the MOD Gold Armed Forces Covenant Award, further supporting serving personnel, veterans, and their families through its comprehensive 4Rs Programme.
