The not‑for‑profit organisation The Power of Events has announced a major expansion of its UK Schools Engagement Programme into the North East, introducing Leeds as a new regional hub to connect young people with opportunities in the events industry. The initiative, which aims to inspire and educate students about career paths and the diverse nature of the events sector, had already reached more than 106,000 young people in its first academic year through hundreds of school visits across other regions including East of England, Birmingham, the South Coast, and Hertfordshire.

With ambassador registration now open, industry professionals nationwide are being encouraged to volunteer for as little as one hour to support the programme. The first wave of engagements in Leeds is scheduled to begin in Spring 2026, with a target of reaching over 10,000 young people in its initial year. Local industry partners from associations and event organisations across Leeds are backing the expansion, reflecting broad community support for developing future talent in the sector.

The Power of Events has also announced additional regional rollouts planned for Manchester/Liverpool/Cheshire, Edinburgh, London, and Bath/Bristol, with projections to engage over 250,000 young people across its active regions by the end of 2026.
